libnfc-dev software package provides Near Field Communication (NFC) library (development files), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libnfc-dev
libnfc-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libnfc-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libnfc-dev *
You will get with libnfc-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
